Terms of use
Last updated 9 October 2026
These are the simple rules for using mochiboost. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Who can use mochiboost
You must be 13 or older. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or carer first. One person, one account, and please keep your password to yourself.
Keep it kind
mochiboost exists to lift people up. When you send a Boost to someone, it must be kind. Please do not send anything that is:
- insulting, bullying, threatening or hateful;
- about hurting yourself or anyone else;
- sexual, or aimed at someone who has asked you to stop;
- spam, adverts, or anything that is not a real, kind message to someone you know.
The app checks Boosts for some unkind words before they are sent, but it cannot catch everything, so the rest is up to us all.
Blocking and reports
You choose who becomes your boost buddy, and which Boosts you keep. You can remove or block a buddy at any time. If someone sends you something unkind, you can report it. We may look at the reported Boost, and we may remove accounts that break these rules, without warning if it is serious.
Your content
The messages you write are yours. You let us store them and show them to the people you send them to, which is all the app needs to do. Please only add messages you are happy for those people to see.
Notifications
Boost notifications are created by your phone at the times you choose. Phones sometimes delay or skip notifications to save battery, so we cannot promise every one will arrive exactly on time.
Not medical advice
mochiboost is not a medical or mental health service, and is no substitute for professional help. If you are struggling, please talk to someone you trust or a health professional. In the UK, Samaritans are free on 116 123, any time.
Our promises, and their limits
We work hard to keep mochiboost running and safe, but it is provided “as it is”, so there may be times when it is unavailable or has bugs. Nothing in these terms limits anything the law says we cannot limit, such as responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Otherwise, we are not responsible for losses that could not reasonably have been expected.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings, then Delete account). We can end or suspend an account that breaks these rules. What happens to your information is explained in our privacy policy.
Changes
We may update these terms as the app grows. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app first. Using mochiboost after a change means you accept it.
The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Questions? Email hello@pipkinlabs.com.
